Founder and president of Callamari Fine Art, Ellen provides discrete, professional advisory services.  Her clients include art collectors looking to enhance sophisticated, secondary market collections as well as individuals new to collecting.  Her knowledge of both blue chip market trends and young, emerging artists is the basis for the bespoke services she provides to clients.  Before launching Callamari Fine Art in 2000, Ellen held senior positions at major New York galleries including Mary Boone Gallery and Andrea Rosen Gallery.

As an advisor to the estate of the abstract expressionist Richard Pousette-Dart, Ellen has assisted in the sale and exhibition of his work nationally and internationally.  She was a key contributor in the development and creation of the monograph, Richard Pousette-Dart: The New York School and Beyond (Skira, 2005).

Ellen received a B.A. from Rutgers University and an M.A. from the City University of New York, both in art history.  She is a graduate of the NYU Appraisal Studies Program and is also certified by Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) of The Appraisal Foundation, Inc., in Washington, DC.

In 2012, Ellen was elected to ArtTable, a national non-profit membership organization for professional women in leadership positions in the visual arts, and in 2016 was elected to AWAD (Association of Women Art Dealers), an organization focused on collaboration between professional, women art consultants, gallerists and art dealers.
